90 Day Fiance: Why Miona Bell's Hair Has Created So Much Controversy
90 Day Fiancé season 9 star Miona Bell is a blonde after her latest makeover. But what really makes Miona's hair so problematic to the fandom?
Miona Bell from 90 Day Fiancé has managed to create one controversy after another thanks to her hair that she has changed several times since she got married to Jibri Bell on the show. The newest diva on the TLC block, Serbian 90 Day Fiancé star Miona entered the franchise after she moved to America on a K-1 visa in 90 Day Fiancé season 9. Miona was aghast at having to stay in South Dakota with Jibri at his parents’ house and having a wedding in the small town when she dreamed of a Los Angeles life. However, Miona had more to worry about when fans started accusing her of blackfishing upon discovering her throwback photos online.
While Miona never directly addressed the scandal, it seems she’s slowly moving away from her choice of clothing, makeup, tanned skin, and hairdo. Fans often joked about Miona getting traction alopecia from her tightly pulled back hairstyles on the show. They asked why Miona never took her wigs off and had them on in Jibri's parents home with her having nowhere to go. Fans wondered if they were ever going to see 90 Day Fiancé's Miona with her hair down. Thankfully for them, their prayers were interestingly answered after Miona launched her own ponytail brand called Miona Beauty. Miona posted her new "hair down" look first in July 11, and in September claimed she received her "first haircut in America." Without her Ariana Grande-like ponytail or fake tight curls, Miona looked like a different person, up until her blonde balayage hair moment in October, after which she's been completely unrecognizable.
Why Is Miona & Her Hair So Controversial With 90 Day Fiancé Fans?
Over time, fans have shown a great deal of interest in finding out what Miona looks like without her makeup, and more importantly, with natural hair. Photos of 90 Day Fiancé star Miona’s “real hair” instantly go viral, just like the pictures of her before her “Kardashian” transformation. In a now-deleted post, Miona had even defended her use of braids by sharing photos of traditional Serbian braided hairstyles, while confessing it was her grandmother and father who helped her braid her hair. But not all the reactions to Miona’s hairdos on 90 Day Fiancé and Instagram were seemingly negative.
As soon as her show reached its finale and showed her Joshua Tree wedding ceremony, Miona launched an online shop for her famed ponytails. Miona began selling high-quality ponytails made from premium synthetic fiber, which are quick and easy to wear. Makeup artist Miona started her business by promoting three styles of ponytails in three shades, ranging from black to blonde, but now seems to have over five different extensions with over 10 shades. It was one of her own wigs called the Flamingo Ponytail in the shade 2/27/613 which helped Miona achieve the perfect blonde shade to dye her natural hair with for her current hairstyle.
Interestingly, Miona’s business of ponytails has not just boosted her own style quotient, but has also made her net worth grow in leaps and bounds. Miona, who claims she earns $20,000 in a week thanks to her online shop, recently took to Instagram to show off a brand-new Porsche she bought herself. The forever hustlers Miona and Jibri are not everyone’s cup of tea, owing to their over-the-top behavior on 90 Day Fiancé and on Instagram, but to some, they have the most “real” relationship on the show and are inspirational thanks to the empire they continue to build.
