NBA 2K22: How to Unlock Galaxy Opal Yao Ming

Season 4 of NBA 2K22 is officially underway, allowing players to unlock Galaxy Opal reward cards for the first time, including Galaxy Opal Yao Ming.

Season 4 of NBA 2K22 is well underway, allowing players to unlock multiple new rewards for MyTEAM like the all-new Galaxy Opal Yao Ming. Galaxy Opal Yao Ming is one of the greatest rewards ever to come to an NBA 2K game and is the cornerstone of Season 4 rewards in NBA 2K22. This reward is one of nine total Galaxy Opal rewarded player cards, which include Terry Cummings and Tony Parker.

In Season 4 of NBA 2K22, players will experience more firsts than in the previous three seasons, including more rewards and quests. Additionally, current-gen console players will notice their city affiliations in NBA 2K22 will have been updated to match Season 4's theme. Unlocking Galaxy Opal Yao Ming is going to require players to grind as much as they can to earn more XP, including completing quests that require exploration around the City or the Cancha Del Mar.

Galaxy Opal Yao Ming is only available once players reach Level 40 in Season 4 of NBA 2K22. Players can reach Level 40 more easily by completing quests that refresh weekly in NBA 2K22, as well as by taking advantage of attribute boosts that help players earn additional XP. For example, players can earn the two-time MVP WNBA legend Candace Parker as a Diamond Coach at Level 35. Candace Parker offers attribute boosts for players' teams as they complete Agendas for more XP. As a Diamond Coach in MyTEAM, Candace Parker also brings the first double Signature Challenges to a MyTEAM Season that will reward players with items that can help them reach Level 40 and unlock Galaxy Opal Yao Ming more quickly.

Unlocking Galaxy Opal Yao Ming At Level 40 In NBA 2K22

In addition to the double Signature Challenges issued by Candace Parker, Dwayne Wade also brings these types of challenges to MyTEAM in NBA 2K22 for the first time. With a large array of challenges and quests to complete, earning a Galaxy Opal Yao Ming should become easier and easier as players continue to climb to Level 40. Although it's unlikely that players will be looking to trade their Galaxy Opal Yao Ming, players should keep an eye on the Auction House in NBA 2K22 in case a Galaxy Opal Yao Ming is available there as well.

Players who complete the Unlimited Showdown Tier in Season 3 will have earned an extra 150,000 XP, allowing them to earn Galaxy Opal Yao Ming if they haven't logged in already since the Season 4 start. This amount of XP is a large reward for the Showdown completionists of NBA 2K22. In addition to earning Galaxy Opal Yao Ming, players who have reached Level 40 in the previous three seasons of NBA 2K22 will also earn Legend Status - a reward that requires players to reach Level 40 in four seasons.
