Too Hot To Handle: What Matthew Mawhinney Is Up To Today

Matthew "Jackson" Mawhinney is on Too Hot To Handle season 3. Since joining the show, Matthew has gotten in trouble with the law while on an airplane.

Warning! SPOILERS for Too Hot To Handle season 3 below!

Matthew "Jackson" Mawhinney was one of the later additions to Too Hot To Handle season 3 and became very well-known following his stint on the show. Netflix dropped Too Hot To Handle season 3 on January 19, introducing 10 new singles - five women and five men. The castmates even got to stay in the luxurious THTH villa in Turks and Caicos, just like the cast of season 2. However, some cast members didn't get to enjoy the villa for very long.

Truth and Jaz Holloway were eliminated in episode 5 as they didn't create any strong connections with their castmates. Before they were eliminated from the villa, Obi and Olga were added to the mix. During episode 6, viewers finally got to meet Gerrie from South Africa and the infamous Matthew. While he had a great time on the show, he became even more notorious after the series.

Now, many fans have been wondering what Matthew has been up to since filming Too Hot To Handle. Immediately after filming Too Hot To Handle season 3, the London native was arrested over a drunken flight rampage. In February 2021, Matthew, along with his THTH season 3 costars Harry Johnson and Beaux Raymond, returned from filming the Netflix dating series in Turks and Caicos. The three costars were escorted off a British Airways flight by a group of policemen after being arrested onboard (via The Sun). During the flight, the 29-year-old was reportedly confronted on the plane by flight attendants and fellow passages regarding their bad behavior. When one of the flight attendants asked Matthew and his friends to stay seated and wear their masks, he allegedly replied: "Do you know who my mum is?" Matthew's mother is Patricia Scotland, the Commonwealth Secretary-General Baroness.

Matthew - who is on THTH season 3 with Stevan Ditter - and his costars were very drunk and didn't like that they were refused alcohol while they were on board. The group was also overly excited about the newfound fame they were about to gain once their season aired. The costars received final warning letters from the captain and could face a possible ban from the airline. Since Matthew's inappropriate behavior, he has kept a low profile online. Not only did he not share on his Instagram that he will be on the new season of Too Hot To Handle, but Matthew has barely posted anything on social media since his arrest in February 2021. Nonetheless, Matthew, who is on THTH season 3 with Nathan Soan, has done some traveling in the past year. He went to Italy and Ireland in December 2021 and was most recently in Antigua.

Matthew has been keeping a low profile since his arrest in 2021. Other than doing some traveling throughout Europe, Matthew is doing his best to make sure he does not make a fool of himself again. Getting in trouble on that plane while flying back home was big enough of a lesson for him to learn.
