Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Leak Reveals Everything Just Weeks Before Launch

All three Galaxy Tab S8 series members will offer Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, quad stereo speakers and cellular connectivity support over 5G.

Samsung's trio of flagship tablets in the Galaxy Tab S8 series has been a staple in the rumor-verse for the past few months, but a comprehensive leak has now revealed all about them — product renders from all angles, detailed specifications, and even a price range. This year, Samsung is adding a third member to its flagship tablet lineup. The new entrant will reportedly be sold as the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. And as the name makes it abundantly clear, this one will be the beefiest, both in terms of size and internal hardware.

As per alleged product renders that popped up online a while ago, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will rock a notch at the top. And it has been positioned with landscape usage in mind, which is quite a reasonable decision given the sheer screen real estate. The other two members of Samsung's 2022 flagship tablet portfolio are the Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8 Plus. All three tablets are likely going official alongside the Galaxy S22 series phones at Samsung's next Unpacked event slated to happen early next month.

However, it appears that leaks are going to spoil all the surprises. WinFuture has shared alleged marketing images of the tablet from all angles, alongside detailed specifications and rough estimates about the asking prices. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra offers a 14.6-inch (2960 x 1848 pixels) display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The notch at the top houses a 12-megapixel primary camera and another 12-megapixel snapper for ultrawide-angle capture. At its heart is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage with further scope for expansion via a microSD card slot.

Powerful & Pricey

The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra features an 11,2000mAh battery, but fast charging figures are unknown. Over at the back, a black strip covers the camera island and is slightly recessed to host the S Pen stylus magnetically. The rear camera hardware includes a 13-megapixel primary snapper and a 6-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter. In addition, there are four stereo speakers to handle the audio output, while 5G support takes care of cellular connectivity. As for the asking price, Samsung will reportedly charge anywhere between EUR 1,140 (about $1,300) and EUR 1,220 (approximately $1,400) for its magnum flagship tablet.

The Galaxy Tab S8 and its Plus variant feature an 11-inch (2560 x 1600 pixels) and a 12.7-inch OLED (2800 x 1752 pixels) screen, respectively, with a 120Hz refresh rate to boot. The innards include Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor ticking alongside 8GB of RAM and 128/256 GB storage. While the rear camera setup is similar to the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, there's only a single 12-megapixel camera front camera. The Galaxy Tab S8 is said to start at EUR 680 (roughly $775), while the Plus version might set buyers back by a minimum of EUR 1,040 (approximately $1,190). But these are rough estimates, so take them as such. But if the Galaxy Tab S7 duo is anything to go by, the Galaxy Tab S8 trio will be quite taxing on buyers' bank accounts.
