Locket Widget Not Showing Up? Here's How To Add It On Your Home Screen
Locket is a great way to share photos with friends and family. But what should you do if the widget isn't showing up? Here are a few helpful tips.
iPhone users can't get enough of the popular Locket app. However, if you're having trouble getting the widget to show up, it can quickly turn from a lighthearted app to an annoying headache. Released at the beginning of the year, Locket has rapidly established itself as one of the most prominent smartphone applications of 2022. It's a fun way to share photos with friends/family, is 100 percent free to download, and has gone viral on social media.
As is the case with any app, none of them are perfect. Bugs pop up, things stop working, and users quickly get frustrated. Not only is this true of smaller applications, but it also happens to some of the biggest ones. In early January, a Safari bug was found leaking people's browsing history. There are also frequent issues with Twitter, Instagram, Facebook — you name it. As such, it shouldn't be any surprise that an app like Locket has its own share of issues.
One of the most common annoyances with Locket is that its widget doesn't show up. Unlike most iPhone apps, users primarily interact with Locket through its iOS widget. It's what displays pictures sent from other Locket users and how someone can send photos to their friends' home screens. However, the widget isn't automatically added after downloading the app. Instead, users need to manually add it themselves.
How To Add The Locket Widget On Your IPhone
The steps for adding the Locket widget are as follows: Press and hold on an app or widget already on your iPhone's home screen. Tap 'Edit Home Screen,' tap the '+' icon in the top-left corner, scroll down, and tap 'Locket.' Users will then see two sizes of the Locket widget they can add — including Small and Large options. After choosing the preferred size, there are a couple of ways to add the Locket widget. Tap the 'Add Widget' button to automatically add it to the home screen, or press and hold on the widget to place it exactly where you'd like. With that done, the Locket widget is now showing up and should work like normal!
If the 'Locket' option isn't appearing in the widget menu, try opening the app first and then looking for the widget. iOS often won't show widgets unless their respective app has been opened, so that could be all that's wrong. If the widget still isn't showing up, it could be that something with the Locket app is glitched. Press and hold on the app icon, tap 'Delete app,' and then re-install it from the App Store. This shouldn't be necessary, but it's a sure-fire way to fix just about any app that's bugging out.
Last but not least, it's worth double-checking that the Locket app and iPhone are both running the latest available software. To see if there's a Locket update available, open the App Store, tap the profile icon in the top-right corner, swipe down on the page to refresh it, and tap 'Update' next to Locket if an update is available. To update the iPhone, open the Settings app, tap 'General,' tap 'Software Update,' and install an update if one's waiting for you.
