FNAF Security Breach Theory Connects Gregory To Fetch Book

A Five Nights at Freddy's fan theory serves to combine Security Breach protagonist Gregory and Greg from the novel Fazbear Frights #2: Fetch.

A fan theory suggests that Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach protagonist Gregory may be linked to the character Greg from the horror novel Fazbear Frights #2: Fetch. The latest entry in the survival horror franchise features free-roam gameplay, allowing players to sneak around the title's cast of bloodthirsty animatronics. Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach includes different endings, too, with player actions leading to different outcomes.

While previous entries in the franchise saw players sitting in a room and controlling security systems, Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach allows players to freely explore the large Mega Pizzaplex. Playing as protagonist Gregory, players must avoid various haunted animatronics using stealth and an array of tools. Throwing objects can lure the killer robots into more easily avoided locations, and a Glamrock Freddy animatronic also serves as an ally. Gregory can hide inside of Glamrock Freddy, using the bear as a disguise to sneak past the other antagonistic animatronics. While the the game was the series' lowest rated installment, FNAF: Security Breach DLC could potentially expand the horror experience in the future.

A FNAF fan theory, proposed by Reddit user No-Step5669, suggests that the Gregory from Security Breach is actually protagonist Greg from the novel Fazbear Frights #2: Fetch. The first story in the horror anthology sees a boy named Greg gain control of an animatronic named Fetch, which quickly reveals its murderous intent. No-Step5669's theory posits that Greg, after his traumatic experience in the novel, goes on to become a hacker who pilots a younger robotic version of himself. This theory is based on the popular idea that Security Breach protagonist Gregory is actually a robot, which has been popularized by the YouTube channel The Game Theorists.

While FNAF: Security Breach was not the most popular installment in the franchise, fans have still latched on to Gregory and Glamrock Freddy as protagonists. Fanart of an adult Gregory and Glamrock Freddy serves to pay homage to the two Pizzaplex survivors, imagining a happy ending to the survival horror experience. The art interprets Gregory as a security guard who protects children from the animatronics, with Glamrock Freddy working as his partner. With multiple different endings to FNAF: Security Breach, this potential future could very well be a possibility.

The Five Nights at Freddy's franchise has built up an extensive world of horror, with the games being complimented by novels and other media. No-Step5669's fan theory attempts to connect two of the franchise's installments, combining Security Breach's Gregory with Fazbear Frights #2's Greg. While this is only a theory, the concept does serve to tie the novel more closely into the franchise's main storyline.
