Euphoria Season 2 Episode 3 Trailer: Rue Presents A Business Opportunity
Zendaya's Rue presents a business opportunity in a trailer for season 2 episode 3 of Sam Levinson & HBO's critically-acclaimed teen drama Euphoria.
Zendaya's Rue presents a business opportunity in a trailer for Euphoria season 2 episode 3. The Spider-Man: No Way Home actor stars in HBO's critically-acclaimed drama from the mind of Sam Levinson as Rue Bennett, a teenager struggling with drug addiction who falls for the new girl at her high school, Jules (Hunter Schafer). Season 2 debuted on January 9 after a two-year layoff, which was eased a bit by two special episodes, one each for Rue and Jules focusing on their mental state in the wake of the finale's ordeal at the train station.
Euphoria season 2 has picked up right where the first left off, continuing its intense exploration of teen issues like relationships, identity, sex, and addiction through an array of characters, such as Nate (Jacob Elordi), his father Cal (Eric Dane) and love interests Maddy (Alexa Demie) and Cassie (Sydney Sweeney), and the latter's sister Lexi (Maude Apatow). One of the show's healthier, though nonetheless troubled, relationships is between Kat (Barbie Ferreira) and Ethan (Austin Abrams). Season 2 expands the show's cast even more, with episode 1 introducing Dominic Fike as Elliot, a new love interest for Rue.
Now, a trailer for the Euphoria season 2 episode 3 is here (via TV Promos), previewing the events of the next chapter, titled "Ruminations: Big and Little Bullys." The promo begins by focusing on Nate father's when he was in high school, suggesting that next episode's cold open will provide some backstory for Cal, as each typically does, with season 2 episode 1 doing the same for Fezco (Angus Cloud). The trailer ends with Rue ringing a door bell and presenting an unseen character with a "business opportunity."
Zendaya previously revealed Rue will reach "rock bottom" in season 2, and she is already on her way there due to her relapse and heavy drug use during the New Year's Eve party. A season 2 trailer has already shown Rue with a suitcase full of drugs, hinting that she will be dealing. Based on this new promo, one can only assume she will return to the apartment of Fez's new associate, the schoolteacher-turned-drug-dealer Laurie (Martha Kelly), and offer to begin distributing for her.
Becoming a drug dealer herself in conjunction with her substance abuse would definitely be a new low for Rue. This would be in accordance with everything that has been said about season 2, though, with Zendaya explicitly warning it will be difficult to watch as well as deeply emotional. How Rue continues her downward spiral, and hopefully gets out of it, remains to be seen throughout the upcoming episodes of Euphoria season 2.
